IMMA

Irish Museum of Modern Art

Where history meets contemporary creativity

Art in a Historic Setting

IMMA (Irish Museum of Modern Art) is Ireland's leading national institution for the collection and presentation of modern and contemporary art. Housed in the stunning Royal Hospital Kilmainham, the museum offers a unique blend of historic architecture and cutting-edge contemporary art.

The museum's collection includes works by Irish and international artists, with rotating exhibitions that explore contemporary themes through painting, sculpture, installation, and new media.

The Building

The Royal Hospital Kilmainham, built in 1684, was designed as a home for retired soldiers. It's one of the finest 17th-century buildings in Ireland and was modeled on Les Invalides in Paris. The formal gardens and the building's elegant proportions make it a destination in its own right.
